We all know how a thesaurus works; you look up a word and it suggests other words with similar meanings.  However, what if you were interested in how those words were then related to other words – and so on?  You could go look up all those other words, but then what if you were interested in how all those words were related to similar concepts in French or German – or French and German? The Visual Thesaurus will do all this and more – and will even tell you how everything is pronounced.  There is a free trial version of the service, but the full version looks very useful for any language instruction you might be involved with and/or for teaching other content courses to students whose mother tongue is not the language of instruction – or even if it is.

The Website for Visual Thesaurus is HERE and a formal review of the product can be found HERE.
