The more I read about Zimbra the more impressed I get. We currently use FirstClass, a server-based collaboration environment that doesn’t play nicely with many of the small datacenter “must-haves” including virtualization, SANs or even Active Directory. The users generally like FirstClass and use it extensively for its Conferences feature where users can set up ad-hoc private collaborative environments which include threaded messages and data sharing. This is used by the faculty for courses and clubs. If this kind of functionality can be provided by the Education version of Zimbra, I will have a difficult choice ahead of me.
